I drew this during the coronavirus quarantine in the spring of 2020 in an attempt to capture the feeling of returning to your childhood bedroom, colliding with past selves, wondering what, if anything, has really changed since the last time you slept in this bed. I drew the character literally detached from herself, surrounded by relics of a previous life, too grown up to fit into this space but not grown enough to leave it. Her pink hair is an homage to the well-established tradition of dramatically altering one's appearance during this period of prolonged isolation in an attempt to regain control in a quickly-changing and seemingly-apocalyptic world.
